You think you've got problems & that life blows? Read the first few pages of P.J. O'rourkes brilliant book "All the trouble in the world". I guarantee you'll change your mind & even appreciate the many blessings life during our time literally shoves down our throats. Just about a century ago even the most trivial infection could prove fatal. Today we've got the Asian Sensation with a plethora of antibiotics to choose from!
People had it so bad back in the day that even a diagnose of cancer by todays standards would mean "early retirement", & an extended one at that! The only type of retirement, in fact, was what you did after 16 hours of hard labour, for about 6 hours before you had to get up & do it all over again.
