ArabRabbi (m) seeking Xbox 360

My fellow loungers! The purpose of this post is to argue justification for the purchase and ownership of an Xbox 360. In other words, I'm trying to persuade the ArabRabbi to get a 360!

The ArabRabbi has made his case for why he does not intend to purchase one at this time. Money, I suspect, being the primary excuse. AR, you argue the 360 requires an expensive HDTV to achieve proper gaming euphoria. Having used the 360 on HDTVs and standard def screens of various sizes, I can tell you first hand that games are 100% playable on either format, you may loose the glitter in lo def, but not the fun! Instead, look at the 1080p capability as insurance that your Xbox 360 will be relevant to gamers & those making them for at least five years or more, and not as a minimum requirement.

Now this is a cheap shot! You complain about paying $10-15 for games you already own.
I assume you are referring to the recently unveiled Live feature "Xbox Originals".
I completely agree with you there! Paying $15 to download a copy of Crimson Skies and other popular xbox titles is insanity! But that's just it, if you own it already, don't buy it again! Your old disc will work after a quick backwards-compatability patch download. I doubt Microsoft will be making any money here and should instead be offering lesser known titles at a heavy discount.
But my point is that this is just one feature of the Xbox 360 gaming experience, you don't have to use it! If only they'd release a Multiplayer-over-Live version of Halo 1, now THAT would be worth $15!

So why buy an Xbox 360?
Xbox Live for the 360 is a giant step up from what is available for the original Xbox. Besides great multiplayer battles, the achievements feature in games gives you an extra incentive to go back and replay them. This extends the life of most games and equate to more gaming-value for your blood, sweat, & $$$!

Halo 3 is an obvious reason to get the 360, and I am finding that there are other games out there, like Call of Duty 4, that don't just look great, but offer a solid gaming experience. Infinity Ward really went all out making this game!

Speaking of great games, Xbox Live Arcade has a growing list of Multiplayer-over-Live enabled classics like Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo, Pac Man CE, Street Fighter 2 HF, Doom, & Bomberman Live just to mention a few, and you can always download a free trial before you buy!

I'd buy my own 360 all over again just for the wireless controller and headset!! Remember the bullshit we'd deal with every time playing with constant entanglement of our four controlles, the headset spaghetti, and detatching extension cables?

I have yet to try the video chat feature, movie and TV show downloads, the HD-DVD drive add-on, and media center features. And don't forget that 3 year warranty!
